The Visual Designer for the Sears and Kmart Promotions Team is involved at the inception of each digital (desktop and mobile) project or program to ensure that executional as well as strategic visual design direction and decisions are considered, and consistent, with the style guide for each promotion. The ideal candidate is flexible, efficient, detail-oriented, and packed with potential for visual greatness. Your design skills will craft eye-catching graphics that get people's attention. Typography is your jam because you understand its ability to evoke emotion, and photography and videography might also be a hobby that will make you a well desired candidate.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develops concepts, ideas and direction from the Art Director into multiple visual solutions that are unique, on brand and meet the business objectives. Prepares for evaluation in advance of internal and client presentations
• Reviews work with design mentor or Art Director and always listens to the team's recommendations before making final visual design decisions
• Reviews creative concepts to make sure they conform to the standards and specifications of the clients' brand and website.
• Creates and documents new standards
• Ensures content (copy & photography) needed to complete work is sourced from appropriate vendors internally or externally at the start of the project
• Ensures on-time delivery including file prep and production of PPT, PSD, AI and IND files.
• Articulates and presents creative ideas and demonstrates a willingness to bring new ideas to the forefront for consideration by the business
• Designs retail mood boards, storyboards, page layouts, site grids and interface demos.
• Builds and maintains rapport with project and creative peers
• Remains an active participant in the creative community, shadows mentors, seeks out training opportunities, and socializes with the creative discipline

Job Requirements:
•BS/BA/BFA/ degree in related field required or equivalent professional work-related experience.
• 1 to 3 years related professional experience
• Must have the ability to anticipate problems and react appropriately
• Must be able to work well under pressure and time constraints
• Must possess a strong team-orientation
• Solid strategic and tactical instincts
• Ability to present and sell to the client
• Rare Travel may be required between Chicago and NW Suburbs
• Working Knowledge, intermediate level in Adobe Creative suite
