The Strategic Development Representative (SDR) supports the efforts of the Business Development team, and reports directly to the Manager of business development. The SDR facilitates growth and execution in the areas of lead generation, client prioritization, and sales. He/she will facilitate lead cultivation in an effort to expand Innovel's overall client base. Other areas of emphasis for the SDR include lead management, sales funnel management, and customer relationship management.

Job Requirements

  • Create, prioritize, and qualify strategic target account lists within a defined industry, develop call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities for new business
  • Reach out to interested clients in order to understand their marketplaces needs and ascertain whether Innovel Solutions is a good fit for their business
  • Conduct high-level conversations with Senior Executives in target and prospect accounts
  • Maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends to anticipate changing customer needs
  • Manage prospect activities, to include cold calls, and establish initial/follow-up appointments with customer decision-makers
  • Achieve or exceed monthly quotas of Qualified Opportunities and Closed Business
  • Quickly understand the Innovel value proposition and ideal customer profile
  • Research and prioritize target accounts
  • Actively enter, update and maintain all prospect information and communication in Salesforce
  • Generate qualified new business opportunities via outbound prospecting through both phone and email
  • Work closely with the Innovel Business Development Team to refine positioning, identify new opportunities and respond to customer feedback

  • Associates Degree
  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • 18 years of age or older

  • Must have customer-first mentality

  • Self-starter/Problem solver: Ability to identify inefficiencies and work with the team to improve procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with using a CRM such as Salesforce or a similar platform

  • Must be able to work independently and be highly-motivated
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Persuasive Communication style, both verbal and written

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role (food service, retail, customer service, etc.) is preferred
  • Previous experience in Logistics
  • Understanding of marketing and business development
  • Previous 3PL or call center experience
