The Sr UX Designer partners with Product Management, Engineering, and Merchandising to identify and understand opportunities. This position collaborates with Copywriters, Web Developers, Research, and Engineering when opportunities turn into projects to produce elegant and prototyped solutions that meet customer and business expectations.

Job Requirements


JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborates with Product Management, other User Experience (UX) disciplines, and Engineering in the creation of creative briefs and/or product requirements documentation and design solutions
  • Leads reviews of web and/or mobile design to ensure requirements are met and user interface standards are followed
  • Generates time estimates for the completion of User Experience tasks and deliverables
  • Effectively articulates the key design principles of the design solution to the immediate team and upper management
  • Builds and maintains constructive partnerships throughout the Online Business Unit and other Business Units
  • Translates business and technical requirements for new applications into rich engaging customer experiences
  • Conducts research (varies by needs) to inform or refine designs. This includes determining research goals, creating a test plan and facilitator script, recruiting users, executing the study protocol (e.g. lab test, remote test, survey), and analyzing the results. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams of many different discipline
  • Keeps abreast of new design patterns and trends. Leads the evolution of standards
  • Mentors UX Designer and UX Architect
  • Conceptualizes user experiences using sketching, story boarding, information modeling and other methods
  • Creates site maps, page flows, interaction models, wireframe specifications and prototypes to be used by the development team to build the application

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS or BA degree in HCI, Human Factors, Industrial Design required or equivalent professional work related experience.
  • 5-10 years of related experience
  • Ability to deliver high quality work consistently and on time within an agile environment.
  • Attention to detail is a must, while also considering the big picture
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for challenges.
  • Passionate about making great products and exceptional user experiences
  • Pixel perfect design skills
  • Experience working with development teams
  • Excellent communication skills in person, written and presentation
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude
  • Comprehensive understanding of user-centered design concepts and user research techniques
  • Portfolio that displays an understanding of user-centered design (online portfolio preferred)
  • Familiarity in the capabilities of HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX-based applications
  • Must have proficiency in industry standard user interface design software such as Axure, Sketch, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Nice to have: PowerPoint and Acrobat

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • 5+ years related professional experience.
  • 1+ years' experience in retail merchandising/marketing, advertising, product development, e-commerce or related field
