The Sr. Financial Analyst will work closely with Business Finance Manager and Director to support planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial analysis for one or multiple business units within Sears Holdings Corporation. This position will be responsible for performing financial analyses and assist with various planning, forecasting and reporting cycles.

Job Requirements

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages daily/weekly/monthly planning, forecasting and reporting
  • Financial reporting - consolidation, maintaining and owning design P&L (expenses)
  • Variance reporting; planning versus last year (close process) - identifying risks/savings
  • Reviews and diagnoses variances to plan, forecast and last year, working to ensure forecast accuracy
  • Manages the annual strategic planning process in conjunction with corporate timelines
  • Ensures corporate financial controls exist within the business
  • Provides regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed to help drive business results
  • Works with the Business Unit Finance team in aligning on decisions and recommendations
  • Acts as a liaison between other Finance departments

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelors of Science in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Financial Planning, Forecasting, Strategic Business Decision Making or Analysis
  • SP&A experience, preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial calculations
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills based upon financial and statistical results
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate detailed quantitative data
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Excellent computer skills (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Hyperion Essbase, Access)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Retail Background
  • Master's degree in related field
  • CPA or CFA
