  • Develop and implement software for ecommerce applications and related technology.
  • Deliver code that meets specifications, creates little to no operational support overhead and requires minimal support during development from more senior engineers.
  • Create self-documenting designs and clearly communicate intent via comments in code, on specifications, in as-built documentation and during code reviews.
  • Write unit and integration tests for each deliverable, effectively and comprehensively exercising the code.
  • Prevent the introduction of subsequent bugs, and corrects existing bugs or design issues when discovered.
  • Influence the discovery and decision-making process when changes to standards and technology are required (tools, conventions and design patterns).
  • Serve as a team member in the design and new technology proof of concept for applications for new technology.
  • Independently develop and implement software for ecommerce applications and related technology, with minimum oversight
  • Lead code reviews to ensure functional performance specifications are met and engineering standards are followed.
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures.
  • Keep abreast of new technology patterns and trends.
  • Lead the evolution of standards and technology (tools, conventions and design patterns).
  • Lead and review the design of applications and new technology.
  • Analysis, design and development of software with small technical team.
  • Mentor Engineers and Associate Engineers.

Job Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field (or foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years' experience in analyzing, designing and coding large scale Java/J2EE internet applications in a retail domain.

Or, alternatively,

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field (or foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years' experience in analyzing, designing and coding large scale Java/J2EE internet applications in a retail domain.

Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in object-oriented design and Java/J2EE RESTful micro services development within high performance and highly available multithreaded RHEL and Windows environments using: Object Oriented design patterns, Java8 or above, Spring framework, Unix, Oracle, Hibernate, Apache Kafka, JBoss/Wildfly, Weblogic, Tomcat, Spring Boot, JSON,XML, IDEs (Eclipse and Intellij) and Version Controls (Git and SVN); DE in developing AWS Cloud based applications and migrating applications from other data centers to AWS; DE in developing application based on the Relational and Non-relational databases including Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, DB2, and PostgressSQL; DE in caching technologies including MemCached, EhCache, Infinispan, and Redis; and DE in all phases of the SDLC according to Agile methodologies, including Sprint and Scrum using Jira and VersionOne.
