The Software Developer III is primarily responsible for the ongoing development and creation of user facing components. Technologies range from legacy webforms applications to modern responsive frameworks and UI libraries. A deep knowledge JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is required. Additional responsibilities may involve the ongoing development of internal applications and integrations with our third-party partners and vendors. Integrations range from legacy mainframe applications to modern REST based WebAPI’s. Knowledge of the C# framework and experience using Visual Studio .NET is essential. Candidates must be capable of designing, implementing, and testing large scale software projects while assisting with requirements gathering, project management, test plans and support. This individual may be asked to serve as a mentor to Software Developer I and II resources by providing guidance and training on application development. Leading candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Duties:
  • Designs and creates user Interface (UI) elements
  • Develops RESTful WebAPI methods.
  • Directs work of other staff members on a project or application basis
  • Analyzes and develops short- and long-term solutions to Information Technology (IT) needs through developing new and modifying or adapting existing applications
  • Provides weekly updates on project status
  • Reviews system requirements and business processes
  • Leads functional teams at the project level
  • Adheres to Sears Holdings Corporation coding standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned




Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of one or more MV* frameworks
  • Skill in delivering mobile first responsive designs optimized for performance
  • Experience with jQuery and Bootstrap
  • Knowledge of C#
  • Working knowledge of at least one major source control system (i.e., Team Foundation Server, Visual Source Safe)
  • Ability to extract and merge information from a variety of structured and unstructured sources
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience writing PWA's and working with AMP
  • Ability to debug C# code when necessary
  • SQL querying ability
  • Working knowledge of Visio and Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise to interpret internal or external business issues and recommend the best practices
