The Software Developer 3 is responsible for designing, implementing, and testing medium to large scale software projects according to project specifications as well as assisting project management with project specifications, timelines, and test plans. The Software Developer 3 is responsible for developing the software, testing, analyzing, deploying, and supporting users' requests for bug fixes, modifications, and enhancements also providing Information Technology (IT) advice and services to internal clients while providing solutions for the most complex applications and/or projects. The Software Developer 3 is responsible for handling incoming trouble tickets and serving as a mentor/resource to Software Developer I and II and Helpdesk, and providing guidance and training on development items.

Job Requirements

• Designs and creates database tables, business objects and User Interface (UI) elements
• Directs work of other staff members on a project or application basis
• Analyzes and develops short- and long-term solutions to Information Technology (IT) needs through developing new and modifying or adapting existing applications
• Provides weekly updates on project status
• Reviews system requirements and business processes
• Leads functional teams at the project level
• Adheres to Sears Holdings Corporation coding standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of C#
• Skill in debugging both win forms and service code using Microsoft Visual Studio
• Working knowledge of at least one major source control system (i.e., Team Foundation Server, Visual Source Safe)
• Ability to optimize Structured Query Language (SQL) Server queries and troubleshoot database performance issues
• Working knowledge of more advanced programming aspects, such as threading, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services, Language Integrated Query (LINQ) and exposure to Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
• Working knowledge of Visio and Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communications
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise to interpret internal or external business issues and recommend the best practices

• Active Server Pages (ASP) .Net, Team Foundation Server 2008 or 2010
• Windows Process Activation Services experience
