The Manager of Online Fulfillment Operations is responsible for hands-on management of daily fulfillment operations from the 400+ locations that process Sears and Kmart online orders. This involves monitoring performance, identifying performance gaps or operational issues, and driving improvement in areas of cost, quality and cycle time.

The ideal candidate will be:
  • Knowledgeable in supply chain processes. Especially order to cash business processes and physical distribution operations.
  • Competent and confident in working in an information technology intensive environment.
  • Dynamic and results-oriented, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic.
  • Experienced problem-solver. Able to extract data from systems, perform analyses, identify performance issues and root causes, develop action plans, and drive to successful resolution.
  • Establish strong collaborative working relationships with internal constituents whose support is critical in ensuring successful operational performance – including information technology, contact centers, store operations, logistics and loss prevention.
  • Attack opportunities with entrepreneurial spirit and aggressiveness.

Job Requirements


  • Responsible for proactive monitoring and managing daily fulfillment operations for multiple fulfillment channels in the online business
  • Owns KPI's and operational metrics for assigned fulfillment channels
  • Seek out and drive continuous performance improvements in our fulfillment operations
  • Develop tools and operational processes to monitor performance on a daily basis
  • Identify trends and exceptions that would indicate operational issues that could negatively impact members or the business
  • Perform root cause analysis on trends or exceptions & develop containment plans, corrective action plans, and prevention plans
  • Work with carriers to drive cost reductions and improvements in service levels.
  • Work with Engineering, Logistics, Transportation, Inventory, and Retail Operations to coordinate actions and resolutions of operational issues
  • Conduct fact-based analyses to identify opportunities to improve our systems and fulfillment and shipping processes to enhance member experience while balancing (or reducing) operating cost
  • Provide regular reporting on operational performance
  • Lead Strategic Improvement initiatives in this space.
  • Understand member & business needs and opportunities
  • Understand industry trends and competitive benchmarks
  • Develop strategies and implementation plans to provide fulfillment capabilities that support our online member and business goals
  • Own the business operations side of deploying these new capabilities in close partnership with Product Management and Engineering
  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or similar
  • Knowledge of supply chain practices and fulfillment operations.
  • Good business sense and the understanding of sales, operations, and finance as they are practiced in a large corporation.
  • Analytic: Must have the ability to collect & analyze data, extract information from multiple sources including databases (SQL), then use that information to gain insights & draw conclusions to solve problems and drive operational improvements
  • Must be able to use SQL to extract information from databases and conduct analysis
  • Hands on working knowledge of information systems. Must understand system architecture, data flows, and program logic in order to diagnose operational issues and drive improvements.
  • Some software development and project management experience a plus.
