The Manager of Supply Chain Analytics primary function is managing the delivery analytics (4 million stops per year) of third party vendors for Sears. This position will require a tremendous amount of analytical work and will require close partnerships with different BU (Business Unit) leadership. You will work with Supply Chain Operations partners with Buying and Inventory Management, Vendors, Distribution Center Operations, Transportation and all components of the SHC Supply Chain to provide broad-based business solutions.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Understand and be an advocate for the merchandising long-term and short-term strategies, market focus, vendor structure, and product assortment. Ensure alignment with logistics, transportation and inventory strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Own BU level SOAR P&L and transportation expense lines. Identify cost and service impacts for business initiatives and proactively develop recommendations regarding distribution path selection. Meet or exceed expense plan targets. Provide root-cause analysis when targets are missed.
  • Translate business requirements into prioritized actions throughout the channel, including distribution facilities, Transportation, International, Logistics Services, and IT systems.
  • Develop, document and communicate supply chain policies and procedures.
  • Approve exceptions to supply chain policy and procedures or make recommendations on exceptions which require approval of the supply chain executives.
  • Support initial and seasonal sets, new product launches.
  • Provide information to Transportation and distribution centers on key items, promotions, or programs that require special handling or increased oversight.
  • Develop and maintain training programs for businesses (Inventory Management, Merchants, etc.); continual focus on educating the Business Units and vendor partners.
  • Attend routine and special meetings within the Supply Chain and Business Units to ensure strategic and tactical alignment.
  • Serve on committees focused on integrated solutions to problems, requirements and initiatives.
  • Support Vendor Relations and Finance regarding compliance policies and procedures as well as recommendations regarding enforcement/penalties.
  • Manage flow path determination process between business partners and Flow Path team.
  • Facilitate special projects in the DC's such as reticketing, relabeling, inspections, etc.
  • Resolve chronic shipping and packaging errors (i.e. no ASN's, labels, wrong pack configuration, shortages, overages, item substitutions, etc.) by working with merchant and vendor teams.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • 3-5 years of professional experience conducting hands on analytical work
  • Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic) to Distribution Centers, Third Party client meetings and to conduct audits
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring both domestic and international teams
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Access database and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of state of the industry forecasting, replenishment, allocation, warehouse management, purchase order management systems and analytical tools.
  • Working knowledge of distribution center operations, process flows, requirements, and cost drivers.
  • Ability to leverage understanding of Business Units – organization, policy and procedures, planning and operational cadence, 3 year strategy plan, key performance indicators, product and promotion knowledge, supporting systems, industry practices, competition, etc. to ensure the best supply chain solution is provided.
  • Ability to analyze, understand and translate data from many sources and independently determine course of action.
  • Working knowledge of vendor capabilities, cost drivers, and logistics requirements (EDI PO, ASN, labels, paperwork, product and carton markings, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of store operations (including POS, receiving, replenishment, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of inventory management practices including coverage, turnover, and overall inventory integrity.
  • Deep understanding of transportation methods/modes and their impact on cost and service (collect vs. prepaid, LTL, TL, FTC).
