The Project Portfolio Manger is responsible for owning the portfolio of projects that are approved by the business stakeholders. The Portfolio Manager directly supervises and performance manages a team consisting of National Process Owners and Project Managers. Provides support to business owners to establish and support strategic business direction and aligns to the Home Services and Sears Holdings strategic direction. Responsible for: project delivery in compliance with Project Management Institute (PMI) standards; working with project track leaders to ensure compliance to PMI standards and support portfolio reporting; providing guidance on business case development; working with Information Technology to obtain approval for project funding; maintaining portfolio level metrics around cost, benefits and schedule. Accomplish complex, large scale, high-risk projects. Organizes project plans to ensure execution of business plan to achieve objectives.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Plans, manages, oversees and controls multiple project teams ensuring successful delivery of all key project initiatives within a business unit
• Evaluates and recommends opportunities in the area of strategic direction; identifies, evaluates and presents new opportunities to support the growth and Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) goals of the business
• Builds strong collaborative working relationships with the Business unit Vice President and National Operations Manger
• Plans and manages projects and budgets with other company business and technical areas to accomplish business objectives
• Plans, schedules and prioritizes new projects with stakeholders through identification of objectives, time frames, cost and staffing requirements
• Leads and coordinates support for Home Services initiatives in the areas of process, productivity and continuous improvement
• Ensures effective project plans are created and executed for all projects, and ensures that project lifecycle methodology, as established by Project Management Institute (PMI), is followed and appropriate artifacts is created during all phases of the project
• Executes a leadership role in the creation and execution of change management plan for all projects
• Coordinates project implementation that may include personnel for areas internal and external to the department and potentially to the company
• Fosters successful and cooperative working relationships with all levels of management in the Home Services Team
• Liaisons to Information Technology (IT) for establishing technical direction and building business alignment
• Manages the development, implementation and administration of operational policies, programs and systems within functional area; establishes methods and procedures for departmental work activities; identifies and resolves operational problems; and communicates expertise and approvals concerning departmental activities
• Participates in cross-functional teams in support of achieving the Sears Holdings Corporation Vision and Mission
• Acts as a subject matter expert and Enterprise Representative of the Business Unit
• Performs other duties as assigned
