The Industrial Engineer is responsible for supporting the logistics organization through a variety of projects focused on enhancing productivity, maximizing throughput and ensuring workplace safety.
Provides Industrial Engineering support for Distribution Center operations.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains an accurate and effective Work Measurement System. Ensures effective productivity measurements are established for identified functions in the distribution center through time studies and frequency studies conducted in the distribution center
  • Evaluates and subsequent revises all work methods and workflow for all functions to ensure they are ergonomically correct
  • Trains management and hourly workforce on productivity and work methods
  • Establishes and maintains “Best Methods” for all job functions
  • Analyzes, recommends, and implements enhancements to existing work methods flows and processes to increase throughput
  • Develops and designs distribution center and office area layouts
  • Collects data to assist in the development of distribution center and capital budgets
  • Analyzes and provides cost justification on all capital project requests
  • Designs, selects and installs material handling equipment incorporated into existing, new and expanded distribution centers
  • Researches technological advances in material handling systems to develop cost-effective improvements to operating methods and procedures to support purchase recommendations
  • Works effectively with external resources (consultants and contractors) to ensure collaborative partnerships to meet business requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in projects related to process design, work measurement, productivity improvement, cost reduction and project implementation
  • Experience with work measurement methodologies and tools with an emphasis on time study expertise
  • Experience in best methods development
  • Experience with productivity tracking, data collection systems
  • Excellent planning, organization, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent PC skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Effective communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact across a broad range of organizational levels and functions
  • Work Measurement
  • Understanding of Distribution Center (DC) environment
  • Industrial Engineering Degree (BSIE preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
