The Home Specialist, at the direction of the General Manager, works with the Home Experts on: sales goals, growing their relationships with the member base, building loyalty and referrals with utilization of social and digital tools. Makes Member Experience the first priority and is responsible for enhancing the experience, driving sales through professional and proactive consultative sales assistance, and helping Members find the right merchandise every time for the total home solution.

The Home & Life Specialist supports the General Manager to consistently deliver memorable, differentiating member experiences. The Specialist builds a culture that embodies a member-centric focused on total solution selling and growing associate capabilities. Responsible for coordinating and participating in all selling, merchandising, receiving tasks, checkout activities, and other tasks as assigned supporting the whole store.

Job Requirements

  • Leads by example in delivering a WOW member experience every time and provide the highest degree of service by making the Member the first priority.
  • Models the right behaviors in the selling process and takes ownership for understanding Member's needs to recommend the right merchandise - and total - solution every time while meeting minimum performance expectations.
  • Assists the General Manager in communicating expectations, developing knowledge and skills in order to provide feedback to Home Experts. Assists the General Manager with monitoring performance of sales associates relative to expectations, and ensures Home Experts delivering the right Member Experience.
  • As needed will assist the General Manager with community outreach through social media, event organization and in-store event execution. Will work with store Home Experts to oversee their member engagement, ensure/validate post-store visit interactions and social media postings adhere to the community outreach guidelines and only while on company time.
  • Acts as a resource to help the General Manager identify and resolve gaps in processes, efficiencies, and member experiences. Performs merchandise support tasks (e.g., cleaning, straightening merchandise) during each work shift. Responsible for keeping the department ready all day and night and ensuring the sales floor is easy to shop, in stock, clean, signed and organized for customers.
  • Monitors performance of sales associates relative to expectations, and ensures sales associates are delivering the right Member experience and understand how to improve. Provides the General Manager with feedback on sales associates, and provides General Manager input on action plans, coaching and performance reviews.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures as appropriate, consistent with current procedures. Partners with General Manager to ensure sales associates understand the procedures and have completed appropriate training prior to being assigned to opening and closing.
  • Collaborates with the General Manager to leverage reporting to analyze team and associate level metrics.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge and effectively communicates to team on promotions, product, selling process, and company/business initiatives.
  • Asissts Home Experts when they are not meeting standards, as well as the ability to act as a Home Expert when member needs require
  • Maintains on-going knowledge of applicable National Presentation Standards, store merchandise, integrated retail, SYW, and operational processes. Achieves and maintains appropriate levels of learning standards through Segno and other learning systems/materials.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-4 years of related experience
  • 18 years of age or older

  • Prior sales experience in customer centric organization that required intensive relationship building
  • Proven success in driving sales and meeting sales targets
  • Demonstrate passion for leading teams, developing others and delivering memorable experiences
  • Recruit, interview and hire employees based on store needs and plans
  • Support associates achievement of their individual goals by monitoring their selling process and providing timely feedback anddirection. Conduct coaching's and training as required.
  • Must be results driven and willing to adapt to new products, technologies and/or selling techniques
  • Ability to work independently
  • Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs
