The Director, User Experience for Home Services provides leadership and strategic direction for brand experience and puts the needs and interests of the customer at the center of everything the team produces. This position builds strong cross-functional partnerships and works closely with Home Appliances and Services teams on business plan and initiatives.

Job Requirements

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as the key point of accountability for UX efforts across the eBusiness platform
  • In conjunction with Product Management visualizes and determines strategic direction of business; oversees process improvement, growing business and seeking opportunities to positively affect division/company
  • Develops, maintains and continually improves processes for how UX resources engage with the project teams during the systems development lifecycle.
  • Provides overall recommendations and sets tone regarding style and fit of product(s) during presentation
  • Develops new and effective interactive design solutions on time and in scope to meet business needs.
  • Advocates for customers in all scenarios
  • Sets design direction for digital experiences and ensuring consistency and high standards. Establishes design and interaction standards
  • Partners with product management, marketing, and engineering to deliver high-quality customer experiences
  • Partners with marketing to establish brand direction for Sears Home Services (brand consolidation, palette, design elements, etc.)
  • Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Over 10 years of related experience
  • Expert knowledge of digital design, flow and site organization with a wide degree of creativity and problem solving abilities
  • Proven excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent leadership/management skills
  • Extensive knowledge and skill in using and applying a wide variety of usability research techniques
  • Ability to deal with managerial issues
  • Ability to set overall creative tone and lead creative design process
  • Thought leadership in design and customer experiences, including interaction patterns, modes of input, and technology evolution
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: He/she will possess strong written and verbal communications skills, adapts and responds quickly to inquiries and questions
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing fast paced work environment
  • A collaborative individual who is motivated by working effectively with others and forging consensus.
  • A team player who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, management environment
