The Director of Business Development's primary role is to drive revenue generation (sales), brand partner management & relationships (merchandising), as well as lead/demand generation (marketing) for their specified region. KPI owner for revenue and gross margin generation for her/his region including shared ownership of bottom-line profitability.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Owner of topline revenue & Gross Profit KPI's for their region, with shared ownership of bottom-line profitability with Director/GM of the region. Sets and achieves financial targets for the region and brands
  • Develops and implements sales strategies and growth plans necessary to maintain and strengthen “premier supplier” status for the custom home, upscale remodeler and designer market segments.
  • Leads & executes sales development activities via our Showroom Managers, inside & outside sales force as well as our physical showrooms for their region to drive for results.
  • Provides high-level direction and leadership in developing marketing strategies and programs for the business based on strategic direction, current business, customer and research data
  • Develops & maintains mutually beneficial and strong relationships with our vendor partners, leading the negotiations for pricing, promotions, contracts, and funding support for the region.
  • Manages lead/demand generation activities (marketing) as well as the support from our partners (vendors) for these activities. Works through direct reports to create cohesive & collaborative plans across marketing & merchant teams and vendors to develop an integrated marketing strategy and plan.
  • Develops and communicates merchandising strategies, showroom design, and marketing plans.
  • Utilizes and is proficient in the use of company systems and I.T. Tools such as Salesforce to analyze and follow up on sales and marketing activity that drive results and client engagement.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for sales commission and incentive programs to incent the desired outcomes while managing the bottom line impact.
  • Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates.
Job Requirements:
  • Knowledge of contract appliance industry with emphasis on high end distribution.
  • Experience in leading and managing a building supply sales & marketing organization.
  • Proven track record in developing talented sales associates, building and growing a team.
  • Strategic planning and business management skills.
  • Brand management experience.
  • Direct Sales management & leadership skills.
  • Builder/remodeler industry background.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis
