JOB SCOPE:
Director of Product Management is responsible for negotiating complex multi-year supply agreements (in excess of $50M) and maintaining collaborative and productive relationships with key vendor partners and customers. Contributes as a strategic team member to a business that generates over $300 million in sales annually.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Product Management - Brand is responsible for the planning and implementation of all product activities for the brand in order to ensure product remains competitive in the marketplace from a performance, price and quality perspective. This position is responsible for long-range and short-range product planning, developing product assortments, coordinating distribution/ stock allocation activities, determining merchandising mix by distribution channel, and researching areas for new products. This position regularly identifies and implements new business opportunities that drive the profitability of the brand. This position partners closely with the Brand, Marketing, Engineering, and OBU Merchant teams to develop and execute their business category plans.

Job Requirements

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Builds product leadership strategies for the brand that support the brand vision. Keeps abreast of important consumer and industry trends (technological, social, economic, demographics) that impact the business or organization
  • Drives the product innovation process for the brand. Provides strategic input to sourcing, engineering and design from conception to implementation
  • Leads successful implementation of merchandising strategies in order to attain revenue, gross profit and gross margin objectives
  • Understands consumer value proposition and competitive differentiation and brings that to life through assortments tailored by customer
  • Manages a vendor matrix that builds profitable assortments that meet customer needs.
  • Tracks commodity index trends and effectively navigates cost implications
  • Negotiates complex multi-year supply agreements.
  • Executes the launch of new products into the brand assortment.
  • Leads product growth opportunities and exit strategies based on business financials, consumer and industry trends, and market penetration strategies
  • Establishes and maintains effective vendor relationships and works with vendors on a routine basis.
  • Actively pursues and identifies emerging technologies


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Over 10 years of related experience
  • Up to 25% travel
  • 18 years of age or older

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • History of strong sales and margin performance
  • Experience in business turnaround situations
  • Served as a leader over large teams direct reports and cross-functional teams
