The Creative Director is involved at the inception of a project or program within User Experience to ensure that executional as well as strategic visual design direction and decisions are considered, and consistent, with the style guide of the User Experience Group, the Online Business Unit, Clients and any and all Partners or Properties of Sears Holdings Inc. This position works within a methodology dictated by the project, program or team and partners with any or all discipline members to complete the project on time, on budget and on brand.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

•Leads all efforts in building and maintaining a strong team and book of business
•Establishes a vision for successful creative across browser, tablet and mobile and demonstrates fluency across Web, Print and Video in order to demonstrate a mastery of integrated marketing campaigns and offline-online conversion paths
• Develops creative approaches designed to impact human behavior based on a thorough understanding of the research, target audience needs and business requirements
•Articulates new, ever-changing creative best practices, technologies and trends to ensure that the UX team is leading its industry in intelligence and application
•Creates and pitches big ideas for online integrated retail and articulates these concepts with peers, clients, and direct reports
•Represents creative department at select recruitment events, conferences, seminars and speaking engagements to promote the team in a larger venue and help gain client consideration for future work
•Improves processes and policies under the supervision of the Creative Director to facilitate the efficiency and effectiveness of the team workflow
•Presents to executives and speaks to both strategic and creative pillars – be accountable for group's creative output.
•Maintains an excellent working relationship with team members, account directors and clients to engender trust and inspire more cooperation and efficiency
•As required, monitors and communicates budgeting concerns, including deployment of talent, time, resources, and financial matters
•Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates

Job Requirements:

•BS/BA/BFA/ degree in related field required or equivalent professional work related experience.
•12+ years related professional experience
• Must have the ability to anticipate problems and react appropriately
• Must be able to work well under pressure and time constraints
• Must possess a strong team-orientation
• Solid strategic and tactical instincts
• Ability to present and sell to the client
• Travel may be required between Chicago and NW Suburbs
• Expertise in Adobe Creative suite
• Expertise in Keynote or Powerpoint

Preferred Skills:

•Master's degree and/or equivalent specialized training preferred.
