The Analyst is responsible for representing stakeholder needs, leading and coordinating the collection and verification of customer & business needs, documenting and organizing the requirements for a technology and communicating the requirements to an entire team. This role is responsible for the definitions of business process based application requirements.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Information Systems, or Related Business
  • Strong experience with MS Office including Excel and Word
  • Must have extensive experience executing SQL queries of advanced complexity
  • Experience with R, Tableau, and/or Python are a plus
  • 2+ years in business process based use case application design, implementation of packaged solutions
  • 2+ years of prior professional data mining and/or business analytics experience
  • Experience in Object Oriented Application Design & traditional application design
  • Experience in business process analysis, design & documentation
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Solid written and oral communication skills. This includes the ability to communicate ideas & processes thoroughly & clearly to people at various levels of education & computer competency.
  • Knowledge of IT Industry trends & technologies
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma processes
  • Effective documentation skills
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyzes science, engineering, business, & other data processing problems to implement & improve computer systems.
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, & problems to automate or improve existing systems & review computer system capabilities, workflow, & scheduling limitations. Analyzes or recommends commercially available software as needed.
  • Produces financial & market intelligence by querying data repositories & generating periodic reports. Devises methods for identifying data patterns & trends in available information sources.
  • Determines requirements using business analysis, interviews, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, etc.
  • Composes detailed & comprehensive requirements & design documentation according to agreed upon schedule & using standardized templates
  • Ensures that business requirements, package selection business requirements, & IT requirements are within business project scope
  • Adheres to processes, uses tools & produces artifacts appropriate to the standard methodology
  • Participates in requirements analysis & verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, concise, comprehensive, feasible, & verifiable and that they conform to standards.
  • Collaborates with business and teammates in requirements prioritization & requirements review meetings to ensure that the requirements are interpreted correctly.
  • Identifies users, documents user characteristics, identifies appropriate representatives or systems for each user & determines their responsibilities and how they interact.
  • Defines system attributes, external interfaces, constraints & other non-functional requirements.
  • Performs analysis for changes affecting the business requirements
  • Reviews quality assurance & technical documentation to ensure they meet the business requirements
  • Analyzes existing processes, using industry standards, identifying potentials for improvement & charting progress during improvement phase.
  • Tracks system project requests. Obtains request justification & system estimates working with client and corresponding team leader.
  • Develops thorough knowledge to understand the functional & hierarchical dependencies that affect mission-critical and production environments
  • Ensures metadata, reference documentation, and data flows are accurate and up to date
  • Designs and implements process improvements and workflows to improve data quality and assist in the delivery of timely, accurate, and complete data to the business
  • Researches data quality issues through detailed analysis, data profiling, and data mining
  • Identifies and reports data quality issues, related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness in a timely fashion and works to resolve those impacting assigned data elements
