The Sr Copywriter crafts the voice of experiences across Sears Holdings. This position is responsible for developing messaging platforms, navigational and promotional language along with advancing brand profiles and coming up with concepts to strengthen our leading Integrated Retail position. This position focuses on the customer experience, making it easier for customers to get what they want, when they want it. This position works with Product/Account Managers, UX designers, Visual Designers, Web Developers and others to kick off projects, better understand requirements and creative briefs and deliver ideas and messages that improve engagement, conversion, customer satisfaction and the overall customer experience. This position presents work, explains the strategic and creative thinking behind the work and in particular dives into messages both experiential and promotional in nature. Ultimately, this position is responsible for messaging for SHC experiences and at Creative Director levels, for content strategy and visual and UX design as well.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

•Writes copy exhibiting a mastery of web content development methodology, AP Style and SEO principles in order to ensure copy aligns with best practices and brand standards.
•Leads the research of business needs and industry trends along with leveraging user testing to help write customer-focused copy.
•Creates clear, concise, conversational, on-brand messages that inspire customers to follow specific calls to action in online executions.
•Produces conceptual work under the direction of managers (copy and design) that illustrates a forward-thinking mentality.
•Conducts interviews and creates outlines in order to deliver a customer-centric experience that is in synch with business and brand initiatives.
•Presents copy, concepts and ideas to business stakeholders, managers and directors and acts on that feedback to improve copy language, efficiency and effectiveness – presenting and getting examples include buy-in on a new piece of functionality that increases SYW Member engagement or taking the lead on all messaging across a brand campaign.

Job Requirements:

•BS/BA degree in related field required or equivalent professional work related experience.
•5+ years related professional experience
•Advanced understanding of AP Style and SEO principles.
•MS Office proficiency; from a design perspective, Adobe CS and Axure basic familiarity helpful.
