GENERAL SUMMARY: The IMX Traffic manager is the central hub of daily workflow of projects from conception to completion working with cross-functional teams such as art directors, graphic designers, production artists, finance, and account management teams.
The IMX Traffic Manager is responsible for managing the workflow of all IMC Creative Account, Design and Content teams, including Creative Directors, Art Directors, Graphic Designers, Production Managers, Account Managers, Copywriters, Editors etc. In conjunction with managing workflow, this person is also responsible for providing resource and project balancing. This position also serves as the primary “auditor”, providing guardrails and gatekeeping at each milestone in the processes. The traffic manager role is key to ensure work stays on time, to assign and rebalance resources, and to ensure quality assurance.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: Manages the workflow of a department of over 40 associates, and manages the projects for 43 business units within Sears, Kmart and SYW.

Job Requirements

•Manage the workflow of all account projects with the Creative Design team to ensure on-time delivery to the Account team, Creative team, and the BU partners
•Re-evaluate Creative Design team workload on a regular basis to ensure appropriate distribution of work and to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner
•Track all stages of active projects and supply team members with project status updates as needed
•Create and provide account project status reports to Account team and Creative Design team to flag potential issues and potential late projects
•Manage weekly project status meetings to review project requests with the account team to determine fiscal acceptability, adherence to schedules, and completeness of required elements
•Manage the Creative Design team's requirements for Spanish translations, working with an outside vendor to obtain translations, ensuring that the translations are received in a timely manner
•Assess logos and images frequently received from outside vendors to assure that required elements are appropriate in size and format for a given project
•Supply Account team and Creative Design team with various elements required to complete a account project; e.g., downloads from vendor ftp sites, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
•Guide Design team with content questions for account projects, based on information received from Account team at weekly turn-in meetings
•Ensure that project elements are accurate
•Create and supply PDFs of all account elements to Account team
•Review required project changes with Account team to ensure Creative Design team's understanding of required changes
•Field numerous account project questions, issues and comments from all team members on a daily basis
•Supply team members with various elements of archived projects on an as-need basis
•Prepare first proofs of account projects for basic account elements (if deadlines necessitate)
•Assist Graphic Designers and Production Managers with completion of Final Art packets, simple copy changes and similar design-related tasks (if deadlines necessitate)
•Collects and reviews the creative brief submission, timing and estimates for all projects before turnover, and ensures updates are accounted for as needed.
•Provides all completed project initiation files to the CD / ACD and Copy Director for Review.
•Schedules project kick off meetings within 24-48 hours of approved project initiation files, ensuring all required attendees assigned by the CD / ACD and Copy Director are in attendance.
•Supervises, schedules, and coordinates production.
•Assigns tasks / objectives and monitors daily operations for any one or combination of the following: work group / department, product line, or program according to established methods, guidelines, procedures, and policies.
•Coordinators with the Creative Team, Ad Managers, and Production Artists to ensure stellar efficiency with interdepartmental workflows.
•Maintain day-to-day flow of information for all jobs to Creative, Ad Manager, and Production Artist to ensure jobs are on target for established hours and deadlines.
•Monitors and tracks production progress.
•Produces reports for each stage of production process (circular, SGPO, Grocery, etc.)
BA or BS required; Business concentration preferred
•3-5 years in a retail environment, specifically in the visual area
•Financial/budget experience in a retail environment
•A minimum of 3 years as a Account Manager
•Strong customer service skills; requires excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
•Ability to make sound decisions, think strategically, focus on details, problem solve, multi-task in a high volume fast paced environment.
•Ability to understand art direction and the creative process.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects which constantly change and meet tight deadlines.
•Microsoft Office with heavy use in Microsoft EXCEL
