The Sr. Financial Analyst will work closely with Business Finance Manager and Director to support planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial analysis for the Home Services BU within Sears. This position will be responsible for performing financial analyses and assist with various planning, forecasting and reporting cycles for the Appliances and Small Store categories.

The Sr. Financial Analyst is an individual contributor who will assist the Home Appliances team (responsible for $2B in
revenue) with its financial planning and analysis.

Job Requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages daily/weekly/monthly planning, forecasting and reporting
  • Reviews and diagnoses variances to plan, forecast and last year, working to ensure forecast accuracy
  • Manages the annual strategic planning process in conjunction with corporate timelines
  • Ensures corporate financial controls exist within the business
  • Provides regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed to help drive business results
  • Works with the Home Appliances Finance team in aligning on decisions and recommendations
  • Acts as a liaison between other Finance departments

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 3-4 years of related experience
  • 18 years of age or older

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's of Science in Finance, or Economics
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Financial Planning, Forecasting, Strategic Business Decision Making or Analysis (preferably in a retail setting)
  • Proficient in MS Excel (VBA experience – writing code/macros)
  • Fluent in PowerPoint, Teradata and SQL
  • Oracle system experience: Hyperion Essbase is preferred
  • Google platform experience is preferred
  • Time management, execution and prioritization
  • Superior communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial calculations
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills based upon financial and statistical results
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate detailed quantitative data
