  • Develop and implement software for ecommerce applications and related technology.
  • Deliver code that meets specifications, create little to no operational support overhead and require minimal support during development from senior engineers.
  • Create self-documenting designs and clearly communicate intent via comments in code, on specifications, in as-built documentation and during code reviews.
  • Write unit and integration tests for each deliverable, effectively and comprehensively exercise the code.
  • Prevent the introduction of subsequent bugs, and correct existing bugs or design issues when discovered.
  • Influence the discovery and decision-making process when changes to standards and technology are required (tools, conventions and design patterns).
  • Serve as a team member in the design and new technology proof of concept for applications for new technology.
  • Develop and implement software for ecommerce applications and related technology, with minimum oversight.
  • Lead code reviews to ensure functional performance specifications are met and engineering standards are followed.
  • Lead the evolution of standards and technology (tools, conventions and design patterns).
  • Lead and review the design of applications and new technology.
  • Lead analysis, design and development of software with small technical team.
  • Mentor Engineers and Associate Engineers.

Job Requirements

Requirements:
Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in computer science, engineering, information systems, information technology or related field, plus three (3) years of experience analyzing, designing, and coding large scale Java/J2EE applications within the retail domain. Or, alternatively Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in computer science, engineering, information systems, information technology or related field, plus five (5) years of experience analyzing, designing, and coding large scale Java/J2EE applications within the retail domain.


Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in design and development of large scale Java/J2EE web applications in Service Oriented Architecture using Object Oriented programming in Java 8, JUnit, Spring, and tools, including Maven for build, Git for version control and Jenkins for continuous integration within Unix and Windows environments; DE building REST web services and SOAP web services, including, writing optimized database queries for relational MySQL database; DE developing and deploying applications on the Amazon Cloud platform using Amazon Web Services (AWS), EC2, RDS, IAM, S3, VPC, Auto Scaling and AWS developer tools, including Code Deploy, Code Build and Code Pipeline and DE in all phases of the Agile and Waterfall Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) using Sprint/Scrum techniques and JIRA dashboards.
