  • Develop and implement software for ecommerce applications and related technology
  • Deliver code that meets specifications, create little to no operational support overhead and require minimal support during development from senior engineers
  • Create self-documenting designs and clearly communicate intent via comments in code, on specifications, in as-built documentation and during code reviews
  • Write unit and integration tests for each deliverable, effectively and comprehensively exercise the code
  • Prevent the introduction of subsequent bugs, and correct existing bugs or design issues when discovered
  • Influence the discovery and decision-making process when changes to standards and technology are required (tools, conventions and design patterns)
  • Serve as a team member in the design and new technology proof of concept for applications for new technology
  • Develop and implement software for ecommerce applications and related technology, with minimum oversight
  • Lead code reviews to ensure functional performance specifications are met and engineering standards are followed
  • Lead the evolution of standards and technology (tools, conventions and design patterns)
  • Lead and review the design of applications and new technology
  • Lead analysis, design and development of software with small technical team
  • Mentor Engineers and Associate Engineers

Job Requirements

Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience analyzing, designing, coding, and debugging large-scale Java/J2EE and mainframe applications in a retail domain. Or, alternatively a Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience analyzing, designing, coding, and debugging large-scale Java/J2EE and mainframe applications in a retail domain.

Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) analyzing and developing software applications and solutions using Unix, Spring, Boot, Micro services, Jira, APS and SQL; DE writing high-level codes, algorithms, design patterns, and JUnit test cases to build high-performance, high-volume applications using Cloud Technology, Linux, Mainframe, DB2, CICS, MAPS, COBOL, Quick jobs, DYL280, OPC, and SNDS/SNDM; DE developing and debugging mainframe based automation products and tools using SQL, DB2, CICS, MAPS, COBOL, APS, REXX, SNDS/SNDM, Quick jobs, DYL280, OPC, and JCL; DE gathering system analysis and finalizing technical and functional specifications using Jira in a retail domain; DE organizing and maintaining database structures, and creating tables, views, and joins to design and write functional and technical specifications using SQL, DB2, Mongo DB and NO SQL database.
