The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for designing learning experiences that solve business problems through the thoughtful combination of communications, eLearning, instructor-led training, performance support and other interventions. They ensure that high-quality, innovative, and effective learning solutions are in a timely fashion to satisfy business needs. They ensure that components of the solutions are designed, developed, and delivered by different teams in a timely manner. While supervising a team of Instructional Designers, focusing on developing their skills, keeping projects on track and coaching in the moment.

Job Requirements

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Engage with stakeholders from different parts of the business to rapidly analyze their needs and design high-level learning solutions that may include a range of low, medium and high-fidelity learning interventions
  • Partner with communication specialists, eLearning designers, media specialists, translators and performance support designers to conduct the detailed design of interventions identified as part of an overall learning
  • Coordinate efforts between business stakeholders, communications, eLearning, media and performance support teams to ensure that learning solutions are delivered in a timely manner
  • Continuously monitor resourcing levels, project progress, and work with the Learning PMO to align resources to any gaps as they emerge
  • Provides guidance, mentorship and development to the Instructional Designers
  • Coaches in the moment, provides direct feedback and direction to Instructional Designers to ensure work deadlines are met with accuracy and delivered on time.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in educational technology, instructional design, performance improvement or related field required; masters preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in related field
  • Ability to communicate in spoken and written English well enough to be understood by direct reports, supervisors, co-workers, and customers
  • Ability to enter data and maneuver efficiently using a keyboard, operate a mouse, use telephone and headset equipment, and listen while keying information into the system
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of sitting and some standing and walking, with bending and reaching as necessary
  • Ability to demonstrate self-control by maintaining composure and keeping emotions in check even in difficult situations
  • All employees/associates may in the course of their duties come in contact with Credit / Debit Card Data. If this data is exposed as part of their position in the site/center, the associate must protect that data as directed and required by the compliance team to ensure SHC s compliance to current Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (DSS)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Experience as a learning experience designer, performance technologist or senior instructional designer preferred
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and resource management experience in a learning role
  • Preferred but not required, experience working in an Agile environment.
