Scope of Responsibility: In MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS OHIO (Cleveland) the manager directly manages the Remote Monitoring Center and its ‘Specialist, Investigation’ associates in the utilization of remote monitoring CCTV functionality to identify opportunities/exposures within all formats of Sears Holdings Management Corporation relating to safety, dishonest activity, shrink, or margin erosion. Maintains close working relations with field Asset and Profit Protection (APP), IT support, Online Business (OBU), Supply Chain (SC), Home Services, Legal and all other business operations teams while continually forwarding a centralized investigative strategy by enhancing the Remote Monitoring teams capabilities and performance

Job Summary: Leads, coaches, and motivates the Remote Monitoring ‘Specialist, Investigation” associates while managing all aspects of the Remote Monitoring Center and assigned projects related to promoting a centralized remote investigative strategy within the SHC organization. Manages the Remote Monitoring team’s mission of using CCTV to monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational controls that support safety, theft deterrence and identification, reduced shrink, and optimized profits. Manages and seeks out ways to improve, promote, and report the “Remote Store Audit", "Impression of Control", and "APP Hotline Call" processes. And partners with the APP National Investigations Team, all levels of field APP, and Law Enforcement to manage surveillance activities on all types of investigations within stores with no on site APP staffing

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manages the Remote Monitoring Center and all operations including those pertaining to Store Audits, Impression of Control, and Store APP Hotline Calls
  • Ensures the Remote Monitoring Centers CCTV equipment is maintained and used correctly in compliance with company policies
  • Champions Store DVR Online and Remote "Views" improvement efforts in partnership with the field APP Teams and the Corp Technology Team.
  • Ensures Remote Monitoring Center Operational Databases are maintained with accurate, updated information.
  • Continually strives to identify new evolutionary opportunities to improve performance and scope of the Remote Monitoring Team
  • Ensures Investigative Specialists efforts are focused on areas of greatest impact
  • Facilitates on-going review of CCTV systems, supporting operations databases, and reporting to identify exposures and provide recommendations for change and improvements
  • Partners with the Mgr. Investigations on high level investigations to obtain and prepare CCTV evidence for presentation
  • Oversees scheduling of Investigations Specialists and other daily operational and Human Resource processes within the Remote Monitoring Center
  • Develops, interprets, and presents Remote Monitoring Center performance reporting while continually looking for new opportunities to add value to SHC
  • Follows Directors "Centralized Investigative Strategy" and affects change through effective partnerships with the Mgr. Investigations, APP National Managers of Learning and Development, and Field APP Leaders
  • Leads team to attain performance expectations through coaching, motivation, and feedback
  • Conducts associate performance appraisals and sets individual and departmental performance goals
  • Performs supervisory functions including but not limited to: making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting, terminating associates
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Director of Investigations or Sr. APP Leadership
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, or equivalent experience
  • 3- 5 years previous experience in an Investigations, Audit, or Loss Prevention role
  • Experience in directing or managing diverse teams
  • Experience in complex sensitive retail internal/external investigations
  • Experience in managing, developing, and motivating others to success
  • Competency in Shortage Control and retail operating processes.
  • Excellent communications skills (Written & Verbal)
  • Formal training and experience in conducting internal/external investigations
  • Strong analytical and auditing Skills
  • Highly proficient computer skills; exception reporting knowledge, Aspect and/or XBR, SQL syntax, Microsoft Access, Excel and/or related analytical tools.
  • Financial Analysis (ability to analyze / diagnose data, identify / quantify opportunities, develop plans to address)
