This position will work with within the Corporate Pricing Team, it will align with the Apparel Business Unit and it will physically be located in the San Francisco Apparel Office.

The Manager Apparel Pricing will align to our Apparel Business unit and focus on Promotional Pricing. This role is responsible for executing the overall competitive pricing policies and strategies for the Promotional Pricing/ Apparel Business Unit. This role will be critical in the implementation and execution of an overall Apparel pricing methodology and the use of analysis to drive improved margins. This role will work closely with our internal merchant partners, marketing, store operations, finance and IT.

Job Requirements

  • Oversee and execute promotional pricing process; ensure current policies and procedures align with corporate pricing strategy.
  • Become local expert on internal markdown management system including third party optimization logic used for seasonal markdowns.
  • Create insight, benchmarking and reporting from historical and system-generated forecast data.
  • Monitor performance of model group forecast accuracy and work with analytics modeling team to communicate business issues and strategy changes impacting modeling.
  • Work with VP and business Directors to set strategy and policy around SHC's promotional objectives for Apparel
  • Operationalize pricing processes with key merchants for their categories.
  • Identifies specific margin opportunities and work with the buying, inventory and finance groups to execute, i.e., evaluates price sensitivity and potential price changes, development of margin enhancement programs for targeted businesses, etc.
  • Drives the process to review impact and effectiveness of pricing implementation with other groups to ensure consistent execution of pricing policy and to identify gross margin opportunities.
  • Anticipates and understands short and long-term market trends. Conceptualizes how new functionality fits both the retailer's business environment and the optimization tool. Translates concepts into action plan for introducing new functionality.
Skills Needed:
  • BA/BS in Business, Finance or Statistics or similar with 3-5 years of work experience
  • Advanced Excel - Solid modeling skills along with experience in SQL or Visual Basic
  • Previous retail industry experience is a plus.
  • Customer mindset – experience providing internal service to the business.
  • Team experience – has led projects / initiatives involving cross-functional teams.
