Responsible for all Kmart pharmacy pricing activities. The analyst will work with the gross margin recovery director, managed Care and finance team to analyze pharmacy pricing structure. Analyze pharmacy pricing to customers across the company. Maintain a database of information on pricing by market and incorporating competitor data. Work with pharmacy management to improve pricing where opportunity exists. Develop enterprise leave data tools to monitor and contrast changes in the market. Design reporting to segment pricing by product line and other related metrics, including dashboards. Interact with other departments on improvement on gross margin initiatives or other projects related in pricing. The analyst will work with the pharmacy systems group and corresponding vendors to ensure the integrity of any and all pricing updates. The analyst will audit, investigate and report on any erosion to margin related to pricing.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:

() Develops pricing structure in a manner to be competitive on cash prescription while avoiding reduction in margin on all prescriptions in order to drive volume and margin.
() Daily reviews claim detail to identify any and all activities or trends that cause margin erosion or customer retention issues
() Works with outside vendor and pharmacy systems to assure the accuracy of the pricing file
() Reviews claims that are paid below costs and works with Cardinal to identify pricing concerns
() Works with pharmacy management to establish pricing for new products
() Completes all required reports within Kmart systems in an accurate and timely manner
() Works with internal and external partners to complete a monthly competitive analysis for our pricing
() Suggests margin improvement opportunities to BU executive team
() Manages and oversees everyday low pricing structure.
() Maintains MAC price list, reviews COGS Daily Price Change reports to pharmacy management identifies opportunities, performs competitive pricing analysis to ensure relevancy in the marketplace and executes quarterly pricing analysis on everyday low price opportunities for margin improvement and presents to leadership for final decision.
() Completes any and all pricing changes in PDX and sends updates to stores via PDX process.
() Monitors Cardinal Alliance pricing (Daily Cardinal Alliance Report) for price adjustment opportunities to ensure no significant loss in gross margin
() Conducts competitive market analysis of price and source changes to ensure optimal profitability while adhering to and balancing the need to be competitive.
() Develops and implements pricing strategies for the entire pharmaceutical product line and performs margin analysis and enhancement activities.
() Develops collaborative relationships with the managed care team, support desk and vendors to analyze reports and identify price and reimbursement opportunities to optimize profitability.
() Review weekly Below Cost Report (internal) and Emdeon Daily U&C report and determine any opportunities for improvement
() Reviews weekly Price Override report to identify operational opportunities to improve margin.
() Maintain NY & NJ Price List in PDX to ensure compliance with state regulations.
() Maintain Puerto Rico DACO pricing to ensure compliance.

Job Requirements


Education Requirements: Bachelor's Level Degree
Years of Related Experience: 5-10 years

Required Skills:
() Minimum of five years of strategy and or business development related experience in the Pharmacy Industry
() Strong analytic Literacy, incumbent must be fact based and data driven
() Ability to think strategically and have a solid understanding of strategic analysis tools
() Ability to anticipate the needs of the teams and other relevant constituencies so as to properly frame new initiatives and ability to translate these capabilities into the language of customer and investor value
() Proven experience in building and aligning with teams
() Strong knowledge of Excel, Access, and Word
() Strong change communication skills and must excel at working through others to drive change (technically, emotionally, and behaviorally)
() Strong at communicating complex issues in simple to understand yet actionable ways (words/numbers/pictures). Motto: simplify, simplify, simplify.
