Responsibilities include legal research, negotiation of fines, resolution of regulatory, vendor, and customer issues, preparation of releases and simple contracts, review and analysis of lease documents, handling mechanics liens, working with merchants on product issues, project management, investigating and responding to inquiries, preparation of reports, and assisting attorneys in providing counseling on general commercial matters, all of which involve frequent interaction with business units.

Job Responsibilities

•Research statutes, ordinances, and case law and prepare memoranda as needed, including summaries of new laws with minimal supervision
•Work with business units and stores to ensure ongoing compliance with laws
•Prepare and negotiate routine contracts and other documents using forms with minimal supervision
•Analyze and interpret contracts and leases
•Communicate with stores and business units and handle business inquiries
•Develop a working knowledge of the processes and procedures for each business
•Filing business licenses for regulated activities
•Create and manage status reports on pending projects
•Assist in development of forms and documentation of processes and best practices
•Create reports and surveys from collected data
•Other duties as assigned within the Law Department

•Bachelor's Degree and paralegal certificate preferred.
