The Online Merchant/Site Merchandizer is responsible for creating and building a business on sears.com and kmart.com for the Home Appliance business unit. The role entails increasing online conversion through online analytics, user experience, and on and off-site merchandising and increasing attachment rate by improving cross-sells and other cross merchandising opportunities.

The online merchandising role includes the presentation of the product which entices visitors to buy the appropriate categorization of the product and cross-sell with other products. This position works closely with the management team, FLS (Full-Line Stores) Merchant team, merchandise planning team, promotional planning team, operational team and the merchandising support team to significantly improve profitability and maximize shareholder value.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

•Determines product placement within browsing shopping experience online with an emphasis on making it easy for customers to find what they are looking for, ensuring visibility of key items, and priority ordering of all assortments. In addition, works with marketing team to feature items in marketing channels.
•Reviews inventory reports to identify products needing special attention by identifying inventory risk of sale or featured items and ensuring appropriate inventory levels to support online sales
•Oversees all cross-selling within the sears.com experience by understanding which items to feature as add-on or frequently purchased together by customers. Also identifies products to create bundles in order to simplify purchasing for customers on multiple items and drive increased average order value for the website.
•Drives conversion and AOV improvements through site merchandising activities to achieve sales and profit plans.
•Oversees Vertical/Category Page conversion metrics and ensures customers are able to easily find and purchase products through site merchandising which includes navigation and internal search
•Drives increased units per transaction and increased average order value to maximize the dollar opportunity with each customer purchase and providing relevant upsell and cross-sell recommendations
•Conducts analysis and competitive benchmarking to inform the product roadmap and strategy by improving the product, pricing and customer experience
•Reviews daily sales reports to analyze business trends and sales performance and, if there is risk to achieving financial plan, identifies actions to improve business performance and achieve financial commitments. Actions include revising pricing, promotions or site experience.
•Analyzes web metrics and identifies areas of opportunity to improve conversion and average order value through changes in the site experience (navigation, landing experience, search results optimization).
•Identifies and highlights trends (such as top-selling, new, or featured products) and promotions to drive sales.
•Utilizes web metric analysis & customer feedback to take action on product page enhancements to drive improved sales.
•Ensures clear communication and coordination across the marketing, business, design and development teams
•Writes product requirements, develops business models, and defines support requirements and processes.
•Communicates weekly promotions and product launches to marketing teams.

Job Requirements:

•BS/BA degree in related field required or equivalent professional work related experience.
•5+ years related professional experience
