The Business Development Manager I (BDM I) is responsible for achieving revenue and comission targets for all new marketplace sellers. in addition to securing new business for Marketplace, the BDM is charged with a range of activities including prospect identification and account management associated with on-boarding of a new seller.

The BDM I leads a high performing sales team responsible for prospecting, pitching and closing new business, forging strong partner relations and collaborating with management on strategies to achieve revenue goals. This position will monitor and develop action plans to address competitor strategies/positioning, define service offerings and work with the Sears Studio team on promotional strategies. This position will serve as business point of contact and integration owner for new marketplace sellers. Incumbent will have overall accountability for prospecting, pitching, closing and onboarding new sellers to the Sears Marketplace platform. BDM will establish and maintain cross functional communication/partnership to ensure consideration for all affected business aspects - operational and support departments.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:•Drive active, growing pipeline of opportunities for pursuit.•Drive sales process by prospecting, making initial presentations, understanding business needs, developing proposals, closing sales.•Develop complex sales strategies that may be unique to each prospect solution.•Develop and refine weekly sales forecast and make recommendations to provide effective strategies to manage account to a close.•Planning revenue targets and ensuring on track achievement with a focus on margin protection.•Maintain and leverage knowledge and insight of market requirements and competitors.•Works with the online leadershop to develop comission plans and initiatives that drive volume growth, profitability and overall sales productivity year after year.•Effectively assess client needs in order to recommend high value solutions linked to business drivers, enhancing client loyalty, and become the authority on client's business, their competitors and related industry news and trends.•Assess marketplace and develop new business opportunities and strategies to drive growth.•Provide thought leadership by bringing new and innovative ideas and technologies to assist dellers in attaining their business objectives.•Provide expert advice about products and services to customers and business partners.•Develop and drive a rigorous sales process and metrics that starts with effective account planning and ends with effective and efficient new client on-boarding.•Analyze pertinent business statistics and information critical to maximizing revenue growth profit potential and heightening customer service levels•Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates. 50 •Drive active, growing pipeline of opportunities for pursuit.•Proven success in business development for an online marketplace and sales from lead generation to closing sales•Excellent leadership skills•Ability to lead cross-functional teams•Excellent verbal communication skills •Drive sales process by prospecting, making initial presentations, understanding business needs, developing proposals, closing sales.•Strong financial acumen and ability to understand P&L drivers•Expert interpersonal skills and presentation skills•Keen organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi task and prioritize well in a fast paced, dynamic work environment•Ability to develop creative and innovative marketing and sales strategies, programs and approaches to the marketplacePreferred Skills:Master's of Business Administration (MBA) or relevant field
