  • Contribute to the design and development of the enterprise data warehouse system and Business Intelligence (BI) applications.
  • Work across multiple teams within the organization, including Information Technology (IT), business partners, infrastructure, project managers, and senior management.
  • Take complete ownership of delivering technical solutions through efficient and well-designed approaches and incorporating industry best practices.
  • Mentor junior developers by providing guidance and support with subject knowledge and monitoring quality of work.
  • Identify and implement user reporting solutions based upon business requirements and content knowledge.
  • Collaborate with IT partners, project managers, and business analysts to ensure development is on track, resolve issues, and provide root cause analysis for defects.
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
  • Take accountability for the quality and on-time delivery of efforts, ensuring personal work and work of junior developers is aligned to business and IT expectations.
  • Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.
  • Update stakeholders, communicating progress and gaps in functionality and assessments of timeline impacts.
  • Develop and mentor team members, assisting with their learning of new technologies and improving their skill sets.
  • Ensure proper controls are in place and adhered to, including all regulatory, company, technical, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain the necessary processes to ensure a high level of performance specific to area of responsibility through coordination with the Sears IT end-to-end process team.
  • Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology and work with management and development team to introduce new technologies.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience analyzing, designing, developing, modeling, and administration of Business Intelligence applications, or, alternatively, Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience analyzing, designing, developing, modeling, and administration of Business Intelligence applications.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, developing, testing, and implementing enterprise-wide applications using multiple Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Integration applications, including Microstrategy, Tableau, and Pentaho.
  • DE developing complex Tableau Reports using Data Sources, Data Blending, Dashboards, Workbooks, Calculated Field Scripts, Measures, and Parameters.
  • DE developing BI reports by creating logical views, performing troubleshooting and tuning, analyzing Microstrategy generated SQL to determine data issues, and utilizing VLDB properties to support reporting performance.
  • DE analyzing, synthesizing, and organizing data and information to make recommendations to management.
