  • Lead the analysis, design and development of enterprise software systems and programs with business and technical teams.
  • Analyze and identify technical areas for improvement within existing applications.
  • Lead and review the design of applications and new technology.
  • Conduct Sprint planning and prioritize the user stories with maintaining the backlog of user stories for implementation.
  • Lead code reviews to ensure functional performance specifications are met and engineering standards are followed.
  • Gather, analyze, and validate the stakeholder requirements, document use cases and functional/system specifications, and work closely with the technical team to deliver the solution to the stakeholders.
  • Mentor Engineers and Associate Engineers.
  • Independently develop and implement software for ecommerce applications and related technology.
  • Serve as a team member in the design and new technology proof of concept for applications for new technology.
  • Responsible for the full life cycle of software subsystems including design, coding, debugging, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Provide Level 4 support for enterprise software systems and work with production support team to resolve complex production issues.
  • Write unit and integration tests for each deliverable, effectively and comprehensively exercising the code; prevent the introduction of subsequent bugs, and correct existing bugs or design issues when discovered.

Job Requirements


Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing large scale Java/J2EE and Big Data technology applications within the retail domain.

Or, alternatively,

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing large scale Java/J2EE and Big Data technology applications within the retail domain.

Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing jobs for automation, data cleaning and processing, and generating reports using Big Data, Hadoop, MapReduce, HDFS, Pig, Ruby, shell scripts, Hive and SQL queries within UNIX and Linux environments; DE in object-oriented design and Java/J2EE Web services development within UNIX and Windows environments using: design patterns, Spring and Struts frameworks, MySQL Database, application servers (JBoss and Tomcat), IDEs (Eclipse), and SVN Version control for supply chain and pricing; DE in software development using Spring-based Microservices, Google and Amazon cloud platforms, Google BigQuery, Spark, data loading tools (Sqoop or Flume), Hadoop and Unix shell commands, database systems (MySQL, DB2, and Teradata Server), and job scheduling tools (Control-M and Cron); DE in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) according to Agile and Waterfall methodologies, including Sprint/Scrum.
