The GM, SYW Markets is the Consumer/Community and Competition Expert: gather and develop insights for key product, service experience needs. In addition the GM, SYW Markets with be responsible for developing specific market and store level and stategic/business plans that drives growth and pushes the transformation intiatives into market

Lead, drive, and deliver the daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual offense and results (member, brand, business) for the Market, driving profitable growth. Lead, coach, develop and manage a highly cross functional, cross enterprise team ranging from the CEO to the Hoffman Senior Leadership Team to the Field/Retail Services Teams.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Be the Consumer/Community and Competition Expert: gather and develop insight for key product, service experience needs; identify & close gaps in member needs; provide regular intel on the competition (offering, opening/closings, etc.)
• Blend Art & Science to inform Member Demand Forecasts, partnering with the Marketplace Merch Leader and Marketing Teams to develop bottom's up Member Plan
• Drive sustained, systematic outreach (content, community events, social media, SYW Store Pages) to our Best Members, VIPs, 11+ Trippers, etc, working with the Store Managers and MSL's as well as the Marketing Lead for the Market
• Develop and deploy plans for Pop-Up Retail, Member Service Centers, Store & Experience Innovations, Small Footprint/Journey Concept doors, based on local market needs/insights
• Originate, cultivate and manage relationships with Local Govt/Agencies/Influencers; spearhead the B2B/B2G/B2E programs for the Market and Communities
• Work in close partnership with Rtail Operations/Services to adapt and optimize Store Structure, Space & Display Productivity, Staffing and Scheduling to Deliver EBIT $/% targets
• Partner with Market Merch Leads to identify, source and profitably sell local assortments that are relevant to the community/market; may "opt-in" or "opt-out" of National assortment to best serve the local members; Owns implementation and actions for aged inventory
• Defines vision, opportunity and commercial plan to enter and/or exit categories; works with HQ to deliver
• Drive overall margin profile in partnership with the Store General Manager, including approve/reject for PMDs, Pricing, CMDs --> informs targeted interaction and adopts the point plans from HQ
• Develop specific market and store level and stategic/business plans that drives growth and pushes the transformation intiatives into market
• Partner with Central Store/Business Planning to develop recurring insights, alerts/notifications, and opportunities to optimize the market and store-level performance
• Run a daily/weekly/monthly offense spanning HQ and the Market/Field, inculding BOP, HoldCo and CEO
• Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates
