The Financial Analyst - Business Accounting responsibilities include the posting of monthly journal entries, balance sheet account analysis, profit and loss account analysis, accounts payable and accounts receivable analysis, and maintain key internal controls.

The Financial Analyst will act as a liaison between the business units and the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, ensuring proper support is provided to the vendors and the business unit merchants. This individual maintains a standard set of reporting to be produced during the closing process to ensure balances are proper and highlight unusual trends.

Provides data, reporting and recommendations on adhoc GL/AP/AR analysis requested by finance senior management and business leadership. Maintain routine reporting/analytical tools and seek out enhancements to provide ever improving insights in an efficient manner. Ensure transparency in business unit reporting and analysis.

Job Requirements

40% Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Analysis – Assist business units with vendor issues, provide monthly AR reporting, assist AP team with reconciliation of manual wire payment vendor accounts. Liaise with the AP/AR teams regarding unusual vendor transactions to provide support to vendors and/or the business units.

30% Transaction processing – Execute wire payments to select vendors, working with cash management and business units. Completion of journal entries, liaise with Outsourced Accounting Services Center regarding transactional issues. Liaise with corporate accounting regarding the accounting treatment of new, unusual or infrequent transactions.

20% Internal Reporting - Assist in the completion of the monthly close process including completing and reviewing several monthly reports and identification of the significant changes in and components of changes. Interface with business personnel to understand the components of account balances.

10% Special Projects and Internal/External Audit – Assist in the completion of various special projects, including IT integration, and provide counsel to business units and corporate personnel on potential AP and GL transactions and the effects on account balances. Assist in the completion of the internal/external audit matters as it relates to the business.

- Communication Skills – Able to work and communicate effectively with Peers, Sr. Leadership and external support groups to gain support for the execution of the strategies and initiatives that need to be implemented.

- PC Skills – Advanced Excel, Essbase, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office Suite, Business Objects, Financial modeling, Charts & Dashboards.
- Self-Starter – A strategic thinker who is dynamic, proactive, self-starting, able to work independently, and results-oriented, including a willingness to take on additional projects and improve current processes.
- Education – Degree in Accounting or Finance.
