The Field Sales Trainer is responsible for obtaining sales by conducting full in-home product presentations to customers via scheduled sales appointments utilizing the complete Ten Step Selling Plan in order to achieve required metrics. Utilizing a Ride-Along process, the FST also trains new Sales Representatives in effective sales methods that meet Sears procedures while delivering a superior member experience and striving to achieve required sales metrics. Incumbent will also participate in training and development opportunities to learn more about the sales management activities and prepare the incumbent for future, potential sales management positions.

Responsible for maintaining a gross close percentage, net close percentage and dollar/lead generated amount at or above assigned district targets. Protecting lead value by diligently making every effort to close the sale. Serve as a mentor to newly hired Sales Representatives and assist in their training and professional development.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintains acceptable sales performance metrics at or above company average (Par)
• Presents the products and features while complying with required style, size and price criteria (presentations are to be in conformance with established guidelines of Home Improvement Standard Operating Procedures and SHC Ethical Business practices).
• Adheres to the company's standard selling processes
• Ensures all contracts are complete with respect to required documentation and are legible and accurate. Ensures the member understands the contract and confirms all pertinent elements have been communicated in writing as applicable.
• Turns in accurate lead disposition to District Sales Manager
• Achieve ride along sales metric goals as published by the DSM
• Mentor new Sales Representatives during Ride-Along sales presentation appointments and demonstrate proper sales protocol and critique while providing feedback on the sales skills of those being trained.
• Perform ride along process when there are SPCs less than 120 days in service and a subsequent ride along is not already scheduled. Complete formal sales effectiveness evaluations of trainees following ride along to ensure all Sears sales standards are followed.
• Schedule ride alongs in collaboration with DSM/FSM to ensure the newest SPCs are assigned Ride Along appointments first.
• Complete all sales management training curriculum and other development opportunities to prepare for a future sales management position.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekend
• Ability to communicate effectively with associates, managers and members
• Ability to coach and train new sales reps so they can reach their full productivity
• Ability to lift and carry product sample cases (occassionally lifting sample cases that individually do not exceed 40 lbs, depending on product, sample case weight can range from 5-40 lbs).
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, twist, reach and climb
• Ability to navigate different levels of terrain while performing duties
• Ability to work in excess of 50 hours per week
• Ability to drive in various weather conditions for long periods of time in various geographic areas • Ability to establish priorities, negotiate contracts and communicate effectively both orally and written
• Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Lead Tracking, Appointment Center and other business websites
• Ability to exercise care and restraint in conserving assets of the Company with respect to business-related travel
• Ability to drive an average of 750 miles per week. This amount may vary by market.
