The District Production Supervisor is responsible for controlling and supervising the installation process for all Sears Home Improvement Products within a smaller district. The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of the Project Coordinators who are assigned to specific products or groups of products within the district. The District Production Supervisor is responsible for the district backlog conversion rate, quality scores, product cycle time, and gross profit margin. This position provides supervision and counsel to the product specific Project Coordinators in the areas of: scheduling; quality/customer satisfaction; customer service; materials management; and the management of the independent contractor workforce. This position has the authority to identify, recruit, select and bring under contract independent contractors in accordance with Sears’ requirements for independent contractors. The incumbent is responsible for the inspection of the work of all new sub-contractors to ensure that the quality and consistency of workmanship meets Sears’ standards. Additionally, the District Production Supervisor will support and counsel Sales staff as it relates to product knowledge and proper installation processes as needed.

Responsible for supporting annual installed volume, district quality scores, projected backlog conversion rates and gross profit margin set for the district or districts.

Job Requirements

• Responsible for providing leadership, supervision, coaching and development to Project Coordinators, District Administrators, Service Technicians, Warehouse Worker and Kitchen Measure Technician, where applicable, in smaller districts as determined by management.
• Manages both interior and exterior product lines of the Sears Home Improvement Products business within the district, as assigned.
• Supervises the district installation function to ensure that targets are met (backlog conversion rate, quality scores, product cycle time and Gross Profit Margin).
• Supervises and controls all district service related costs for all product lines.
• Provides guidance and assistance to Project Coordinators in the installation process for jobs in progress from start to finish (scheduling jobs with the customer, selecting and assigning the most qualified sub-contractor for the job, scheduling the sub-contractor, identify any special requirements in the job and communicate to the sub-contractor and review the job contract as sold to determine what services can and cannot be done-actual price of the contract can be impacted by these decisions).
• Supports the installation process by recruiting and training sub-contractors (develop and implement recruitment strategies in conjunction with Centralized Contractor Onboarding Team; develop the criteria used to select sub-contractors; interview, select and bring under contract all sub-contractors; develop and implement orientation and training for sub contractors on Sears' products and installation processes; and inspect and monitor work of sub-contractors to ensure that the quality and workmanship meets standards).
• Supports the installation process by controlling the communications with the customer on the job and service issues (schedule the job with the customer, resolve customer service disputes on work in progress and completed jobs according to Sears' service policy, complete in-progress calls, conduct customer post calls and settle customer issues based on individual discretion up to the settlement authority level).
• Supports the installation process by identifying, communicating and resolving contract issues with sales staff.
• Ensures proper permits and licenses for all jobs have been obtained and are continually maintained.
• Ensures that all sub-contractors used in the district carry the required insurance coverage, and ensures that the coverage remains current (non-expired).
• Ensures that all required documentation is completed for each completed job (verify and approve for payment all contractor labor bills, verify that all completion forms are retuned with customer's signature and verify job completion costs).
• Ensures that the district Backlog Update is completed.
• Enforces proper procedures of certification program.
• Follows up on all phone inquiries from customers, sales staff, product vendors and/or sub-contractors.
• Researches and reports inventory variance discrepancies for the district.
• Analyzes (root-cause) customer experience issues from point-of-sale through post installation service to develop sales, installation and service improvement solutions.
• Ensures branch installation facilities are operating in accordance with company standard operating procedures and local, state and federal laws.
• Improves performance of inventory variance targets and appropriate inventory levels.
• Supervises District Administrator, Service Technicians and Warehouse Worker functions to ensure timely completion of duties and that warehouse is organized and in compliance with OSHA regulatory standards.
• Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates.
