Provides strategic leadership and is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and administration of comprehensive safety policies, processes, safety analysis and training programs in occupational safety, for all business formats in the company. Responsible for working with all affected business groups and departments to prevent injuries, mitigate exposures and maintain regulatory compliance.

Job Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Supervise and develop several direct reports
  • Develop, coordinate and implement comprehensive safety policies, processes and training
  • Ensure that safety processes and designs are embedded in all new and existing processes
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices related to operational initiatives and processes, such as fixture designs, visual merchandising, equipment review and evaluation
  • Develop hazard control, designs, methods, procedures and programs
  • Advise on implementation of safety solutions in conjunction with field operations
  • Validate the effectiveness of safety solutions or processes
  • Provide project input concerning process and personnel safety requirements included in generally accepted engineering standards such as NFPPA, ASTM, etc.
  • Partner with SHC organizations to coordinate and align to support retail, home services and logistics units
  • Develop, execute and maintain a national strategy for governance, regulatory compliance and accident prevention

Preferred Skills
  • BS degree in Safety or Occupational Health preferred, other Safety related degrees considered
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of safety rules and regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local
  • Project management skills
  • Retail environment preferred
