The Financial Services organization caters to over 30 million Sears’s card members and provides financial products to meet the needs of Transform Co customers. The goal of Financial Services is to offer financial products and services that will enable our stores to sell more products and generate more profitable sales. The major services that are currently offered by Financial Services include Credit, Leasing, Lay Away, Gift Cards and Alternative Financial Services. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Product Management (Credit) to led our $11B Shop Your Way and Sears Card portfolio in partnership with Citi.

The Director of Financial Services – Product Management (Credit) will lead credit development & implementation efforts for Financial Services across Sears, Sears Hometown, Kmart and affiliate retail formats. This position is responsible for leading and directing decision making on our Shop Your Way and Sears Card portfolio in order to develop strategies to help drive profitable card growth and increase sales. This person will provide strategic insights and thought leadership to the business and Partners in order to achieve and exceed business goals by leveraging data driven solutions. The Director of Product Management position is also responsible for managing the Shop Your Way MasterCard and Sears Card portfolio of products on behalf of the Transform Co and Citi. This person will partner with Citi on a day to day bases to manage the credit card portfolio, initiate growth strategies to drive new account acquisition and support strategic initiatives to grow card sales and revenue for Merchant Partners and Retail Services. In addition, this person will be responsible for building the annual credit portfolio plan.

Job Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role comprises several key areas of responsibility:
  1. Build the Annual Business Plan and set goal targets for card acquisition, field sales efficiency, internal retail sales, credit card share and external card sales.
  2. Partner with the Citi Retail Partner team to develop & implement strategic initiatives to grow new card acquisition for the Shop Your Way MasterCard and Sears Card products
  3. Work with cross functional financial services partners to build product monthly business reviews and presents executive level materials regarding program performance and overall portfolio health
  4. Analyze strategic direction of programs and adjust for ongoing performance and financial improvement
  5. Coordinate monthly Program Committee Meetings with Citi and post-meeting debriefs to ensure alignment, tracking and execution of action items.
  6. Coordinate bi-weekly Sales and Share Meetings with cross-functional Financial Services teams and Citi to generate forward looking ideas and initiatives to grow Shop Your Way MasterCard and Sears Card sales and share across internal business formats
  7. Coordinates work flow and troubleshoot for credit operations. Serves as the single point of escalation for specific issues relating to card acquisition, retention and reactivation
  8. Manage all internal credit communication, offer integration, training and compliance
Education/Training
Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred

Role specific abilities/skills
  • 10+ years of experience in any of the following: Credit Operations, Relationship Management, Partner Management, Marketing, Risk Operations, or Project Management
  • Proven ability to network and build strong effective relationships with key partners
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, influencing & negotiation skills – must be adept at forging and nurturing relationships with business unit leaders and strategic partners
  • Ability to decompose business opportunities & performance to identify risks and drive profitability
  • Ability to think and lead strategically with a keen attention to detail
  • Develop and analyze field sales contests & event results
  • Prioritize & manage multiple projects at the same time – managing budgets, resources and expectations from multiple sources to deliver results on time
  • Roll up your sleeves approach to work
  • Prior experience in retail credit services, financial services or retail marketing a plus
Proficient at MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new tools (e.g., Sears reporting systems)
