Responsible for Cause Related programs and relationships: Develop, manage and evaluate company’s cause-marketing plans and strategies that deliver business results and build relationships with customers and key opinion leaders. This area cuts across all retail formats, brands, products, services and people. Develop and implement strategy for communicating a clear, consistent community message to general market audiences through marketing and media relations

  1. Develop strategic cause-marketing plans that earn customer trust, builds lifetime relationships and delivers maximum results.
  2. Play active role on Marketing and PR teams to integrate cause related programs into multiple aspects of Sears and Kmart Marketing and PR efforts.
  3. Develop and implement programs that align with company business priorities and showcase company, its retails format, brands, products, services and people.
  4. Play key role in supporting seasonal marketing efforts, as appropriate, by incorporating cause-related program components.
  5. Creatively develop new and leverage existing Marketing and PR programs and assets to influence customers and key opinion leaders through multi cultural-specific tactics and cause related levers.
  6. Develop and manage strategic partnerships with national community organizations.
  7. Develop strategic communications related to cause-marketing to create positive perceptions of company among associates and increase morale.
  8. Help establish agreed-to metrics for success and apply to all programs

Job Requirements


Education/Training –
Undergraduate degree in one of the following areas: Marketing, Community Service, Advertising, Public Relations

Experience –

3-5 years experience and knowledge of marketing and communications practices, principles, procedures, and processes.

Role specific abilities/skills –

•Ability to represent very specific concerns in the overall marketing mix

•Comfortable being a member of as well as leading a team of highly-motivated, outspoken individuals

  • Firm understanding of how to leverage community investments to drive business results.
  • Understanding of marketing/PR industry and related assets.
  • Expertise in managing relationships with community organizations and a firm understanding of nonprofit sector.
  • Ability work with varied groups across organization
  • Superior written and verbal communications and presentation skills.
  • Proven leadership on teams, business and company initiatives.
  • Strong analytical ability to gather and interpret data, and develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
