This position is responsible for developing and executing the business strategy that drives the desired financial results for our Home Improvement business. The role serves as the strategic and operational lead for Home Improvement business, creating and executing both short-term and long-term business strategies that fit with the overall brand, key member segments, competitive landscape and company financial goals in the direct to consumer and B2B2C arenas. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer for Home Services. The role will directly lead the sales, marketing, IT, supply chain and member experience organizations in Home Improvement.

Job Requirements

Strategic Planning : Incorporates customer insights, external competitive trends, retail formats, and strategic requirements to set the overall strategy for the business category working with the CEO
  • Anticipates market/business trends and pro-actively manages those trends to the benefit of the company
  • Develops both annual and longer-term strategic plans to manage and grow the business both direct-to-consumer and with B2B partnerships
  • Understands competitor's strengths, weaknesses and strategies and plans SHC offensive response
  • Keeps abreast of important consumer and industry trends (technological, social, economic, demographics) that impact the business or organization
  • Communicates strategy to organization in way that every person understands their contribution to the brand P&L Strategic Planning
Business Performance / Financial Management:
  • Responsible for the business P&L and manages all controllable expenses while driving revenue and profit
  • *Reviews results, and based on sound analysis, ensures corrective actions are implemented and revises plan/forecast
  • Develops and tracks key business metrics to measure business performance and adapts strategies and plans to achieve desired business results
  • Partners with corporate sales and marketing to develop member-focused marketing and engagement strategies to ensure members are receiving appropriate interactions and promotions that drive profitable product and services growth while enhancing member satisfaction
  • Ensures Service Contract products are fully integrated with strong service brand, extensive aftermarket capabilities, and a high feature / high price product strategy
  • Maintains/ expands our large national service technician network along with national member access points that leverages national OEM direct parts network Improves member connectivity and customer service capabilities and offerings
  • Combines data across Home Improvement portfolio to drive member acquisition, provider recruitment & management and member engagement using single analytics platform Ensures maximum labor efficiency
  • Delivers best in class safety standards Achieves/exceeds financial targets
  • Ensure the Home Improvement business acquires and maintains all appropriate licensing to conduct business in all geographies and business verticals

  • Drives strategy identifies, communicates and sets accountability on delivery
  • Develops a high performance team and builds future leaders for key positions
  • Leads team pro-actively identifies and acquires new talent into the organization, coaches associates performance, and develops associates for career advancement.
