JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr Dir, Analytics for Finance and Merchandising provides and oversees the category and store level plans and analysis to merchandise divisions and Senior management within Sears Holdings including the CFO. This position is responsible for providing the store and item level plans to maximize profitability, growth, and cash flow of Transfomco business units and cross-format integrated retail. This position is also responsible for partnering the BU GMM s and inventory VP to drive financial, merchandising, and strategic excellence to retail.

JOB SCOPE: Responsible for category and store planning at the item level for both the FLS and Kmart formats in all businesses.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Influences the strategic planning process by providing tools and data to inform category and store level plans
  • Leads analysis of resource allocation to ensure that the business is maximizing the return on resources within the Business Units
  • Researches and identifies new opportunities to build top quality store/business level analytics and insights and provide recommendations in a clear, succinct, and actionable manner
  • Identifies problem areas, and initiates projects to improve performance
  • Oversees and drives ad hoc analysis to ensure data driven decision making
  • Participates in and oversees all business line reviews, and leads/influences the strategic forecasting discussions at the BU level
  • Helps define and influence the long term analytics roadmap and develops tools to support
  • Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Over 10 years of related experience
  • 18 years of age or older.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • 10-15 years of experience in Merchandise or Financial Planning, Strategic Business Decision Making and Data Analysis
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills required based upon financial and statistical results
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate detailed quantitative data to perform the duties listed
  • Knowledge of Essbase.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • MBA
  • Financial analysis experience in a mid-size retailer or equivalent
  • 3-5 years supporting a revenue generating business
