  • Develop and implement software for eCommerce applications and related technology.
  • Deliver code that meets specifications, create little to no operational support overhead and require minimal support during development from senior engineers.
  • Create self-documenting designs and clearly communicate intent via comments in code, on specifications, in as-built documentation and during code reviews.
  • Write unit and integration tests for each deliverable, effectively and comprehensively exercise the code.
  • Prevent the introduction of subsequent bugs, and correct existing bugs or design issues when discovered.
  • Influence the discovery and decision-making process when changes to standards and technology are required (tools, conventions and design patterns).
  • Serve as a team member in the design and new technology proof of concept for applications for new technology.
  • Develop and implement software for ecommerce applications and related technology, with minimum oversight.
  • Lead code reviews to ensure functional performance specifications are met and engineering standards are followed.
  • Lead the evolution of standards and technology (tools, conventions and design patterns)
  • Lead and review the design of applications and new technology.
  • Lead analysis, design and development of software with small technical team.
  • Mentor Engineers and Associate Engineers.

Job Requirements

Requirements:
Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience analyzing, designing and coding large scale Java/J2EE internet and Cloud-based applications within the retail domain. Or, alternatively a Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience analyzing, designing and coding large scale Java/J2EE internet and Cloud-based applications within the retail domain.

Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in object-oriented design and Java/J2EE Web services development within UNIX and Windows environments using: design patterns, Spring framework, Redis, Apache Kafka, Application Servers (WebSphere and Tomcat), IDEs (Eclipse), and Git Version control; DE developing job automation and data processing using Big Data, Hadoop, Pig, and shell scripts, Hive and SOLR queries, and NoSQL databases MongoDB and Cassandra for production support within high transaction volume UNIX and Linux environments; DE in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) according to Agile methodologies, including Sprint/Scrum; DE integrating configuration management of content, control, and configuration files required for Apache Tomcat, MySQL RDBMS; and DE designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP web services by utilizing Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices architecture.
