Duties: Develop and implement software for ecommerce applications and related enterprise-level technology. Create functional design and code specifications with strong knowledge of software design processes. Develop and integrate unit and integration tests for each functional deliverable, and effectively and comprehensively exercise the code. Deliver high- quality software development product that meets design specifications, creates little to no operational support overhead, and requires minimal support during development from senior engineers. Provide engineering-level operational support, ability to debug and communicate under pressure, provide complex mitigation solutions, and pull operational data. Influence the discovery and decision-making process when changes to standards and technology are required (tools, conventions, and design patterns). Serve as a team member in the design and new technology Proof of Concept for applications for new technology. Participate in Agile software development environment as part of a very dynamic Agile team. Lead code reviews to ensure functional performance specifications are met and engineering standards are followed. Lead the evolution of standards and technology (tools, conventions, and design patterns). Lead and review the design of applications and new technology. Lead analysis, design, and development of software with small technical team. Mentor Engineers and Associate Engineers.

Job Requirements

Requirements: Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, plus three (3) years of experience analyzing, designing and coding large scale Java/J2EE internet, distributed/micro-services computing and Cloud-based applications. Or, alternatively, Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, plus five (5) years of experience analyzing, designing and coding large scale Java/J2EE internet, distributed/micro-services computing and Cloud-based applications.
Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") in object-oriented design and Java/J2EE Web services development within UNIX environments using: design patterns, Spring framework, Redis, Apache Kafka, Application Servers (moss, Tomcat, Spring Boot), IDEs (Eclipse), Git Version control, and AWS development/release tool sets within large scale micro-service distributed e-commerce enterprise; DE designing micro-services and utilizing security and application performance concepts for a complex distributed enterprise level e-commerce system; DE developing and integrating SQL and NoSQL database solutions, including MongoDB, Cassandra, and MySQL within the AWS and GCP (Google Cloud) environments, and managed data offerings, including RDS Aurora and Bigquery; DE with deployment architecture mechanisms, including server-less computing, Dockerized containers, Blue/Green Deployments, and involved traffic management flows; DE integrating configuration management of content, control, and configuration files required for Apache Tomcat, JBOSS, and Spring Boot application frameworks; DE designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP web services by utilizing Service Oriented Architecture and micro-services architecture; and DE in all phases of the Agile and Waterfall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
