JOB SUMMARY: The Director, Architecture and Strategy is responsible for defining IT infrastructure strategy, direction, architecture, standards and management to include disaster recovery, security, systems, servers, monitoring and performance. This role ensures reliable 24x7 operations and is a champion for our AWS Cloud migration
JOB SCOPE: Responsible for development of the technical strategy, solutions architecture, development, delivery and support of software solutions for both Home Services internal and external customer use with a budgetary oversight of $2 - $3 million.

SUPERVISION: Direct: Manages 2 Architects and 1 Support Manager Indirect: Directs a team of technical individual contributors (Architects, Engineers, etc.) - Approximately 20 associates.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directs the overall Technical Strategy of the Home Services Applications portfolio, Integration layers, Architecture and Applications design
  • Collaborates with stakeholders, business representatives, and subject matter experts to critically evaluate infrastructure options to help reduce costs
  • Assess the IT infrastructure and operations (people, process, and technology) to determine best course of journey towards Cloud
  • Lead the IT infrastructure and operations organization towards a primary Cloud based operations
  • Analyzes the current architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements in alignment with industry best practices
  • Assess the current deployment process to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions towards a continuous deployment and continuous integration (CI/CD). Evangelize, implement, and manage a robust DevOps function
  • Implement and manage processes and controls that assure maximum up-time and quick service to the user community for both on-premise and Cloud workloads
  • Management and continual improvement of Cloud Operations, DevOps, and On-prem IT infrastructure/operations
  • Partner with InfoSec to deliver on key information security and IT risk related initiatives. Furthermore, ensure compliance to patching and vulnerability policies established within the organization
  • Supervises the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project/program development and/or operational support activities
  • Manages and mentors a team of engineers and architects to develop turn-key solutions to address business issues
  • Assesses and recommends application development strategy as a result of Build vs Buy analysis during strategic platform discussions
  • Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems
  • 10+ years of experience within relevant IT functional role and management responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience transforming IT infrastructure and moving an organization toward a mature cloud-based service delivery model.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure management in a complex, customer-facing environment with significant reliability and uptime requirements.
  • Experience with managing on-premise workloads as well as migrating workloads to Cloud, while optimizing the cost of Cloud based workloads
  • Possess a deep experience in DevOps with proven results enabling continuous deployment and continuous integration (CI/CD)
  • Extensive experience with instrumentation, enterprise monitoring and reporting tools
  • Demonstrates the business and financial acumen necessary to develop and present data-based ideas and solutions in a clear, concise, organized manner

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Over 10 years of related experience
  • Valid Driver License for the State of employment
  • Up to 25% travel
  • 18 years of age or older

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Masters IT Degree or MBA
  • Project Management, Security Certified, Microsoft, Architecture
