We are looking for a passionate, creative, and articulate user centered Product Designer who is responsible for assisting and supporting the Director in development of product designs; from concept to final design, consistent to the target customer profile and lifestyle/brand image.

The objective will be met through working with the Director Design/Product Development and cross functional teams to develop the best possible product based on the requirements created to meet (internal project management) deadlines. Responsibilities include understanding the business/user requirements, designing user flows, wireframes, user interface and design documentation.

To be successful in this role, you must be proficient with design software and wireframe tools in addition to strong listening and communication skills.

Job Requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design the visual user interface for new web/mWeb and native products in a collaborative environment.
  • Creates and ideates how product features/business needs requests will be developed based on trend information and other market guidance.
  • Work with Brand teams to filter through conceptual ideas for product development consistent with established brand sensibilities.
  • Design, create and maintain graphic assets for all products. This includes icons, diagrams, product illustrations, as well as on-line help and tutorials.
  • Perform a combination of visual and interaction design work, including low fidelity and pixel-perfect mockups.
  • Creates product designs and manages the entire design process, including market research, designing, sketching and interaction with the front-end engineers for an assigned product line(s) to ensure fidelity of the design standards across the application.
  • Works to the project timeline defined by the Head of Product/Head of Technology or Senior Director, Design/Product Development and ensures all deadlines are met.
  • Perform a combination of visual and interaction design work, including low fidelity and pixel-perfect mockups.
  • Advise new product features based on Brand appropriateness and market research
  • Stays up to date on themes, color trends and competitors by consistently shopping marketplace and researching the competition and retail trends.
  • Work with product managers and engineers to create customer-focused solutions to business objectives.
  • Seek and follow direction from Director to prepare for presentation set-up, walk-throughs and meetings. Work with Trend and Brand Teams to create beautiful, brand appropriate presentations of product, while adhering to presentation guidelines.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in design, textile design, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Digital Photo Studio, etc. as well as MS Word, and Excel.
  • Strong computer knowledge; ability to learn how to design through new/advanced technology (e.g., on-line sketching program)
  • Superior design, drawing skills and understanding of total design process.
  • Mastery of tools for designing, producing, and wire framing user interfaces for different channels or devices.
  • Excellent Craftsmanship and Presentation Skills, detail oriented precision in all tasks
  • Ability to initiate and manage several projects and multiple priorities and schedules simultaneously, and through to completion with accuracy
  • Able to adapt to constantly changing process and work assignments while keeping appropriate team members up-to-date. Must be able to interpret and communicate creative ideas and direction
  • Exceptional creativity, passion for beautiful user interfaces, and pixel-perfect attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a User-Centered Development environment, where all designs are iterated and improved by the team
  • Experience working in an Agile Development environment preferred
